Troy, a fifth-generation New Mexican, has a background in computer science and information technology. In 2015, he made a career shift to focus on PV solar solutions for residential, commercial, and public customers. His involvement in community development, working with the Renewable Energy Industries Association of New Mexico (REIA-NM), the New Mexico Solar Energy Association (NMSEA), and other community-based organizations, reflects his deep commitment to New Mexico’s energy transition.  Though challenging, he firmly believes that this transition to renewable energy production and storage is inevitable. He advocates for all renewable energy and energy solutions that benefit New Mexican ratepayers and the economic and environmental well-being of New Mexico.

After working with and supporting New Mexico's Community Solar program for several years, he founded WattsUp NM, LLC, a small business providing community solar subscriber acquisition services with a special emphasis on Low-to-Moderate Income (LMI) programs and outreach covering approximately 43% of New Mexicans.
